    “The Beach House is perfectly situated above Duncannon Beach affording magnificent views across the bay towards Hook Peninsula.”

    The host was there to meet us on arrival and was very responsive to some minor issues which required attention whilst we were there. The house is well furnished and very clean with one en-suite bedroom on the ground floor and two further bedrooms on the upper floor which shared a bathroom. The kitchen was well supplied and had everything you need for a self catering holiday. The only thing I would suggest is that the cooker, which was fairly old, be replaced with an air fryer. Perched in the idyllic fishing village of Duncannon, County Wexford, is this fantastic, detached holiday home, Beach House.

Enjoying a superb and unique location right on Duncannon’s beautiful beach with a private spiral staircase providing direct access, and stunning sea views available from the interior, Beach House is a wonderful pet-friendly choice for couples, friends and families.

On the ground floor of your new home, you will find a light and airy open-plan living space with exceptional sea views, here you can rustle up your best dishes in the well-equipped kitchen, ready to enjoy at the dining table for six as you recount the day's adventures.

On warmer days, why not savour your meal alfresco out on the large terrace with a backdrop of sea views, followed by a walk along the beach?

After dinner, retire to the plush seating in the sitting area with a glass of wine in hand and select a much-loved film on the TV as the evening’s entertainment.

Completing the ground floor is a lovely double bedroom with en-suite shower room, ideal for those with limited mobility.

Head upstairs, where you can wash away the day in the well-appointed shower room, before discovering two further double bedrooms with sea views.

Explore the village, where you will be spoilt for choice with the good selection of eateries on offer, including light bites and sweet treats at Wild Rose Café, traditional Irish dishes at Roches Bar and Restaurant, fresh seafood at The Strand Tavern, and stock up on essentials at the petrol station housing a convenience store.

Be sure to check out the award-winning restaurant of Aldridge Lodge which is just moment’s outside of the village.

Continue onto Hook Head, where you can visit Hook Lighthouse, enjoy leisurely strolls along Slade Harbour, or explore the waters depths with Hook Sub Aqua Club.

Further afield, you’ll find Waterford, home to Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum, a magnificent cathedral, an excellent golf club, and two Michelin Star restaurants, Everett’s and The Old Couch House Café.
