The traditional village of Clonbur is located between Lough Mask and Lough Corrib in County Galway. Offering a small selection of shops and pubs, it retains a distinctly Irish feel with its own unique character and charm. There are a number of places of interest to visit in the surrounding area, including Ross Hill Abbey, Ballykine Castle and Lough Coolin. For walkers and hikers, the imposing Mount Gable offers one of Ireland’s most scenic mountain walks, with the trail beginning less than 2 miles from Clonbur. The nearby village of Cong is well worth a visit and is famed as the setting for the John Wayne movie, ‘The Quiet Man’. It is also home to Ashford Castle with its magnificent architecture, fine dining and sprawling golf course.
