Drive across the bridge to Valentia Island, one of Ireland's many offshore islands, and enjoy a spot of birdwatching.

PORTMAGEE, COUNTY KERRY

Portmagee is a small fishing village situated on the south western most tip of the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. Known as the gateway to Valentia Island, Portmagee is also located on the Skellig Ring, an offshoot of the stunning Ring of Kerry, which is home to the amazing Skellig Rock. Portmagee offers pubs, restaurants and Irish dancing, which takes place twice a week all year round. The famous Skellig Island Boat Trips are only 2 minutes from the village, while the area also offers great walking on the Kerry Way, magnificent scenery, great cycling routes, diving, angling, horse riding, Heritage Centres including The Skellig Experience, and some of the best sandy beaches in the country. The town of Cahersiveen is 10 miles away, boasting an excellent harbour and marina offering sailing, trout and salmon fishing and deep-sea angling opportunities. Cahersiveen also offers traditional pubs, cafés, restaurants, interesting craft and antique shops, and monthly street fairs selling curiosities and local produce.
