    “We enjoyed Aunties and the cottage although a bit quirky was lovely.”

    However there was only one shower working and there definitely is no oven., even though I was told by your staff there was. The location was a bit hard to get to and not really walkable to pubs etc. however we still had a pleasant time therr

The property

Farmhouse is a charming retreat near the village of Ballylickey on the shores of Bantry Bay. Upon entering the property, you will be greeted by a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing meals to be enjoyed in the dining room, warmed by the glow of the woodburning stove.

Alternately it can be enjoyed on the timber decking if weather permits. The “dairy” with its two rocking chairs has some books and children’s games for your rainy day activities. The utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer ensuring all your laundry needs are catered for during your stay. The sitting room provides a warm and inviting space to unwind after a day’s exploring. The property boasts two inviting double bedrooms, offering a peaceful retreat to rest and rejuvenate.

The shower room with large walk-in shower serves both bedrooms.

Downstairs you also have an electric shower and w.c. Outside you will find lots of lawn space to the front and side of the house.

The higher lawn to the side has a fabulous view out over Bantry Bay and Whiddy island.

Here you will see the stables with some horses and foals. The decking with its table and chairs gets the sun in the morning and during the day, and makes it ideal for outdoor dining, while the small patio area in the front lawn is ideal to relax and soak up the evening sun while listening to the sounds of the countryside.

During the summer months make your way to Snave beach or Snave pier where you can enjoy a swim in the wild Atlantic Ocean. Your relaxing retreat awaits you at Aunties offering a perfect balance between peaceful rejuvenation and coastal adventure.

Ballylickey is a popular tourist town situated between Bantry Town and Glengarriff at the heart of the magnificent Bantry Bay, which has become known throughout the world for its stunning scenery and unspoilt environment.There is a large supermarket, deli, hardware, petrol station and ATM at Cronin’s to cater for your every need. You also have a pub serving food and drink as well as Mannings Emporium and Seaview House hotel. Eagle Point Caravan park is across the road from the supermarket. South west of Ballylickey is the beautiful Sheep's Head and "Goats Path" while just five minutes away, to the north-west is the magnificent Beara Peninsula, with its ruggedness, mystery and the Hungry Hill. Venture to Bantry, which has a weekly Friday market, lots of shops and supermarkets, library, beach and pier. Bantry is well served by two hotels with swimming pools, and you will be spoiled for choice with restaurants, pubs, and take away all serving the best in food and refreshments. It has a sailing school where you can learn to sail, or many other water activities are available from the pier. Bantry plays host to a number of festivals each year, West Cork Chamber Music Festival, West Cork Literary Festival and The Masters of Tradition Festival. For walkers, Ballylickey offers a base for some of the finest walking country in Ireland including the rugged Caha or Sheehy mountain ranges. Hill walking is well catered for in the well-planned Sheep's Head Way, while the Beara Peninsula offers hours of trekking and a wonderful variety of scenery. Just 3 miles away from Ballylickey is the famous market town of Bantry, with an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants.
