“This house is very welcoming, cosy and quiet.”

It's quite old. Some furniture are old but still ok. The location is perfect, the view beautiful. The beds are very confortable. The informations are accurate.

“A great property, suits many types of holiday maker, great location and value for money.”

Property will need an upgrade in the near future but nothing major. It’s well kept and Mary the lady who looks after the handover couldn’t have been more helpful. I would go back again!!!

“Basically reasonably comfortable, clean & tidy.”

A littl bit old & tired, but beautifully situated & ideal for tuorithe Ring kf Kerry & surrounding areas. Could do with a couple saucepans &, more importantly, in this modern day & age WiFi. Being from outside Ireland, roaming charges & mobile data cost are high & even using emails & WhatsApp were cost. The hot water & central heating, excellent. Open fires? Being of an age, when as children, our task, every morning, before school, to clean out & re lay the fire, not interested. May be the younger generation would find them a novelty! Missing one trick, should mention the mobility aids in the bathroom. I have some mobility problems & the hand rails by toilet & shower + drop down support by toilet were a boon. Over all, okay would stay there again

“Not been cleaned for a while.”

Cupboards and draws full of crumbs and dirt. Took what we needed to use out of cupboards and washed and left on the worktop to use throughout our stay. One of the double rooms we were unable to use due to the smell of soot. Had to shut the door as it made whole building smell. One of my sons slept o; the sofa which was also filthy. Broken toilet seat had to fix twice in our stay. Cobwebs over the cooker hob and oven so dirty when we opened it after we had put it on to heat up it filled the room with smoke. All of the windows were open in the property when we arrived probably to try and get rid of the damp smell. I would not rate this a 3star. I clean at a 2 star hostel and this was worse. I realise it’s cheap but it should be cleaned properly. Only saving grace the bed sheets were clean.

“Fab, cracking spot, wonderful.”

"Looks fab", "Cracking spot", "Looks wonderful" were comments from family when I posted photos of this cottage on Facebook. Positives: enclosed garden with sea-view, cozy, furniture comfortable, Sony micro-system in kitchen with remote control!, everything included, outstanding value at £300. Negatives: some old furniture with musky odour, living room is a little dark - other "living room" in dining area is brighter and cozier.

“The cottage is an absolute delight.”

Lots of thought has been given to making it extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with the only item short being a pizza cutter – if you like pizza, you need to remember to bring one. The location is superb with fabulous views across Ballinskelligs Bay to Waterville. I highly recommend this cottage and it will provide a perfect base to explore County Kerry. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world and has been used as a location for the filming of some of the later Star Wars films. Another must is the Gap of Dunloe which is a narrow mountain pass known for dramatic scenery.

“We had a fantastic week with beautiful weather.”

We were very happy with the house - it has a lovely location, We live in the country side with cats and dogs so happy with a bit of dust and black mould but you may get complaints from others used to more luxury accommodation. The chopping board hadn't been cleaned properly (smelt awful) and the oven hadn't been cleaned (splattered with food from previous use)

“The lady who managed the property, could not do enough for us.”

But - on our arrival, the boiler was not working , but was by 7/8pm. The house had not been used for some time - no heating for some time, and it smelt of damp, which did not go away for several days. Mary the manager, could not do enough for us, despite the above.

“The cottage is in a brilliant location by being half way around the Ring of Kerry area but because it is actually situated on the Wild Atlantic Way you do feel the peace and quiet of the area and away from the traffic of the main tourist route.”

We saw a mountain goat across the road one day. There is so much to do from here without having to drive very far. Our highlights were Derrynane beach, Kerry Cliffs (with converted bus cafe), the slate quarry grotto and Geokaun mountain walk both on Valentia, the Skellig Abbey remains on Ballinskelligs Beach. McCarthy Castle on Ballinskelligs beach is great fun for climbing up into ..Ballinskelligs beach is lovely, is Blue Flag and has a lovely garden cafe with mini market on Sunday. The beach is perfect for swimming as there are few waves. SuperValu in Cahersiveen is not far away for your big shop and you can top up at Brown’s just down the road for essentials and treats...for gift shopping then Skelligs chocolate factory is a must and the Skellig gift shop just before Waterville is really big with beautiful woollens, pottery, glassware etc. Special Thanks to Mary who looks after the cottage who called on us, she is so friendly and welcoming and recommended places to eat and visit. The cottage sea views are lovely. We loved our stay and will definitely return.

“This is a comfortable, welcoming, well equipped cottage set in gorgeous countryside.”

It has ample space for the kids to play outside safely. Inside the bedrooms are all very comfortable and clean and there is plenty of living space. The kitchen and bathroom have everything you need. We were very comfortable and relaxed in this house. There is a lovely secluded beach ten minutes walk away - very safe for young children and with magnificent views. There is a well stocked local shop half a mile away. Cahersiveen is well worth a long visit and there is plenty to do in the area. We would definitely hope to return to Ocean View at some point in the future.

“The cottage was as accurately described by Sykes and, generally, we had a nice time there during our stay.”

Cottage Positives: 1. The DVD player provided was essential as there was a very poor selection of TV channels (e.g. no BBC). 2. The double bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. 3. The location was quiet and peaceful with beautiful sea views to the rear. Cottage Negatives: 1. The water pressure was extremely low and the toilet took what seemed like hours to refill. We were a couple and it didn’t bother us that much, but with a family of 4/5 it could be a real problem. 2. Two power cuts in the first two days didn’t help. The second one lasted for many hours and was a real problem in an all electric house. 3. The toilet seat broke off after two days so we bought a better quality one locally. 4. The dishwasher packed up after a week and hadn’t been repaired by the time we left a week later. 5. With very little to watch on telly, WIFI would have been a godsend to us. It was mostly available in local cafes.

“Bed linen and towels were included in the rent though not specified.”

It would be handy to have a starter pack with milk and bread as the local shop closes early and the next nearest shop is around 10km away. The scenery is amazing and the choice of local beaches is fantastic. Beach wise there is something for every one - beaches for body boarding, rock pooling, sand castle building, snorkelling, fishing, kayaking etc.

This lovely, detached cottage lies on the outskirts of the County Kerry village of Ballinskelligs, on the Wild Atlantic Way.

This coastal cottage offers glorious sea views of Ballinskelligs Bay to the rear and is a comfortable holiday home for families and friends to enjoy in this scenic region.

All on the ground floor, the cottage has three bedrooms, where you will be sure to enjoy a peaceful night?s sleep.

Within this charming cottage is a spacious open plan living area which boasts a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area complete with an open fire for relaxing in front of on cosy nights in.

If you fancy a bit of peace and quiet, there is also a separate sitting room which features an electric stove where you can catch up with a good book.

Guests can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on sunny evenings on the outdoor deck as the sun sets over the bay offering stunning vistas.

Take the short stroll to the secluded Meelagulleen Beach for a day paddling in the sea and building sandcastles.

Just over a mile away is the village of Ballinskelligs, which is home to a good selection of shops and bars, and is famed for its stunning views and coastal scenery.

This quiet village is the perfect destination to enjoy the Ring of Kerry and all that is has to offer.

There are plenty of attractions and activities within easy reach, including boat trips to the historic Skellig Michael, the Kerry Dark Sky Night Reserve and the McCarthy Mor Tower, together with a 12th century abbey.
