    “We loved the cottage and location, the host was amazing.”

    But, the appliances could do with upgrading and the hoover didn’t really pick up. Having said that it didn’t impact on our enjoyment of the break.

Lough Mask is world renowned for its trout fishing with 4 species of trout thriving in its crystal clear limestone waters. The town of Ballinrobe is 3 miles away with its many pubs, shops and restaurants. Travel to the nearby village of Cong, an idyllic setting, home to Ashford Castle and haven for holidaymakers and visitors. Explore further afield through the Maamturk mountains and arrive at Leenane and Killery Harbour on the Wild Atlantic Way. It is here that the mighty Atlantic Ocean cuts a deep fiord into the mountains. The scenery is breathtaking. Spend a day in Westport, the bustling oasis in the west and savour its beautiful craft shops, restaurants and cafes. Ballinrobe is a lively market town on the River Robe in County Mayo, close to Lough Mask, Lough Carra and Lough Corrib. Geographically, it is ideally located as a touring base for those wishing to explore Galway, Mayo and west Ireland. Dating back to the 1300s, Ballinrobe is believed to be the oldest town in South Mayo, and is surrounded by many features of archaeological, architectural, historic and ecological interest. Ballinrobe is known as the lake angling centre of the west, and with 60,000 acres of lough fishing, and miles of river fishing close by, it is easy to see why, plus the town offers a championship 18 hole golf course and spring and summer horse racing meetings.
