    “Lovely stay in Portsalon.”

    House was great and had all facilities we needed, even got to use the BBQ in Sept which was a pleasant surprise. Garden is massive and well maintained, our dog loved having the space. The hot-tub was a welcome bonus. Portsalon in Sept was quiet but that suited us. Drank in the pub and ate at the golf course, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The beach is beautiful and very close. There is a Lidl about 15/20 mins drive and a decent shop in Kerrykeel which is slightly closer. All in ...

As the heart of the cottage, the sitting room in this Donegal cottage is ideal for curling up with a glass of wine and a good book or for sitting with your feet up by the window and taking in the wonderful sea views.

This area boasts a large dining area which is perfect for dining alfresco and there is also a hot tub, perfect for enjoying at any time of the year!

Portsalon is a coastal village and is popular with visitors worldwide.

It also benefits from a fantastic golf course for golfing enthusiasts and one of the most spectacular Blue Flag beaches that Ireland has to offer.

Lying on the Lough Swilly banks at Ballymastocker Bay, Portsalon is the ideal base for exploring all that the stunning Fanad Peninsula has to offer.

Located just a 15 minute walk from your cottage in Portsalon is an off licence, a local shop and a café.

There is also a restaurant, small shop and friendly pub, set along the side of the pier, which is a lovely spot for enjoying a refreshing drink and is just a five minute stroll away.

For those who want to discover the rugged and remote wilderness of the Glenveagh National Park, this is just a little further afield and you can explore the area on foot or by bike or car.

Slieve League, Europe’s highest sea cliffs, are well worth a visit, as is the walled city of Derry.

This is a wonderful Portsalon cottage and will provide a superb base for a break in the beautiful Emerald Isle.

Resting on the western bank of Lough Swilly is the tiny seaside resort of Portsalon, home to one of Ireland’s top golf courses. Portsalon makes for a wonderful base for exploring the Fanad Peninsula, and boasts a picturesque harbour at Ballymastocker Bay, where you will find one of the most spectacular beaches in Ireland. Visitors can try many outdoor pursuits in this region, including golf, surfing, fishing, diving and kayaking, or if you prefer to explore in comfort and style, then the Knockalla Coastal Road encompasses excellent seascapes and lake scenery. The historic town of Rathmullan, south of Portsalon, provides a lovely afternoon out, where you can take a tour of the Kinnegar Brewery and hopefully sample some of the local produce! With something for everyone, Portsalon is a wonderful location for discovering County Donegal and the North West.
