Glenveagh National Park 11.5 miles; Dungloe 18 miles; Letterkenny 27 miles.

The village of Gortahork is situated on the north western tip of the County Donegal coast, and is an increasingly popular location for surfing and walking. There are several beautiful beaches around the area, and the village is home to the Samhain International Poetry Festival each year. From Gortahork, Glenveagh National Park is easily accessible for a great day out, and with 16,000 acres, it is a walker's paradise. The renowned artist Derek Hill bequeathed his house and gallery near Glenveagh along with his art collection to the nation in 1980, attached is Glebe Gallery and tea rooms which hosts many exhibitions. For a day's relaxation head to nearby Bunbeag which has a swimming pool and a spa area or An Chuirt Hotel which lies at the foot of the Errigal Mountain and has its own health club and spa.
