The beautiful freshly painted castle-roofed dwelling of Ard an Phíobaire can be found perfectly positioned in the parish of Gweedore on the west coast of County Donegal, presenting guests with a wonderful base for a family holiday to Ireland with their lovable canine companions.

Step into the warmth of this homely abode and be greeted by a charming country kitchen, appointed with all the necessary appliances needed to cook up some scrumptious meals throughout your stay.

Continue through the house and discover a snug sitting room featuring an eye-catching open fire and an inviting leather sofa, together creating a lovely space to rest and recuperate as you recover from a fun-filled day by the sea, as well as an additional sitting room with an open fire that offers the perfect setting for an entertaining evening playing board games with friends as you chat over a tasty bottle of wine.

To the front of the house lies a restful twin bedroom boasting incredible views of the village and distant views of the sea.

The property is also home to a further twin hosting a cot for those travelling with babies and toddlers, as well as a gorgeous master bedroom featuring a double bed and an en-suite shower room.

Completing this house is a contemporary bathroom with both a striking roll top bath and a separate spacious walk-in shower, so guests can choose how to best prepare for the day ahead.

Enjoy a swim at the local sandy beach, Port Arthur, which a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk away.

Kayaking and other water sports are available depending on the time of year.

Get acquainted with this delightful area as you embark on a scenic stroll down to the village of Derrybeg or enjoy a day exploring Machaire Chlochair Beach, spotting the mesmerising ruins of Cara Na Mara Wreck aka Bád Eddie.

You can continue on to the quaint fishing village of Bunbeg from where you can take a boat trip to the local Gola Island or Tory Island.

Be sure to include a visit to The New Whiskey Distillery and Leo’s Tavern, Crolly, a 20 min drive away, home of the famous Clannad group and Eyna.

Visit the picturesque fishing village of Burtonport where you can take part in some exciting watersports out on the sea, or take the ferry across to Arranmore Island and hike Cnoc an Iolair - the Hill of the Eagle, before taking the iconic steps down to Arranmore Lighthouse.

Venture further inland to the magnificent Glenveagh National Park, where you can visit the Castle and the Visitor’s Centre and admire awe-inspiring views of the incredible Irish countryside as you set about on an exhilarating cycle or hike through the hills.
