“The Old School House is an exceptionally spacious property but still is comfortable.”

It has all the facilities one could need. The village is very close by and is quiet but has the shops needed for a short stay. Gortin Glen Forest Park is a great place for a walk and is close to the property.

The property

Nestled amongst the heather-clad hills and endearing valleys of The Sperrins, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, within the quaint village of Gortin is this idyllic cottage, The Old School House.

Converted from a school house this spacious property boasts bags of character and charm, offering a delightful base for exploring the rolling countryside setting of Northern Ireland.

The interior of the property enjoys a seamless blend of contemporary styling which is complemented by the characterful high ceilings, the exposed beams and the sash windows.

Spend your wind down time within the open-plan living room, where you will be delighted to find everything you could possibly need.

The exposed beams frame the well-equipped kitchen, which invites the designated chef of the group to whip up a delicious home-cooked meal before your loved ones settle down at the dining table to catch up on the day’s events.

After dinner, look forward to sinking into the sofa, lighting up the fire and tuning into the TV or relax with a good book in-hand before you head to bed.

As the evening draws to a close, retire to the evening’s embrace within one of the bedrooms, each boasting a plush super-king-size bed, a refreshing ambience and their very own en-suites.

As you wake up during a summer’s morning, head to the garden where you can enjoy your morning coffee whilst soaking up the rural surroundings and your four-legged friend roams the lawn before heading out for the day.

If you don’t feel like cooking one evening, a short walk will bring you to the centre of Gortin where you will find a choice of bars, a takeaway and a number of shops for picking up the essentials.

Whilst here, venture to Gortin Glen Forest Park where you will find a magnitude of walking opportunities with breath-taking scenery, as well as mountain biking in a specified part of the forest.

For those feeling more active, look forward to a hefty hike up the Sperrin hills boasting a wild remoteness and plenty of history to discover along the way to the peak, an area also popular for horse riding, mountain biking and parachuting.

The Old School promises a wonderful escape to this part of Ireland with your loved ones.
