“Really disappointed with our stay at the cottage.”
Hot water didn’t work downstairs and intermittent in the shower upstairs so my 70 year old mother and the three children 6months, 3 and 6 had to put up with cold showers. Someone did come out to have a look and said that the radiators had the heating priority in the system but couldn’t look at it as he didn’t have the owner’s permission to change this. After all this we were charged £24 for the electricity used, some of this was due to having to boil kettles for hot water and use the heating boost. Property was ok in general apart from the creaky floorboards and door handles. One positive is the location close to Dingle and Inch. Wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We stayed here for 7 nights , 5 adults and one child, one to two shower a day each, and cooked everyday day. No heating on as it was warm enough for an Irish summer. They have installed solar panels and there was hot water throughout the day, our electricity bill at the end of the stay was €5.25 Can't beat that!

A reading was taken before we arrived. We were not provided with that. We asked for information on this as soon as we arrived as we saw other reviews indicating a concern as to clarity of charges. We asked again a day later and no information was forthcoming so we opened the meter ourselves and checked . Throughout the stay we had no response from the manager, the hot water wasn’t working , and we needed to boost it multiple times to get anything like a hot shower. The bathroom upstairs doesn’t have working hot water at all . On key collection there was a clear discrepancy between our reading and there’s . Apparently an extra 50 euros added to a bill for the first days use !! The total bill was 190 euros for a two week stay when we were hardly ever at home . Be warned ! The unit rate for electric was quoted as 50 cent day rate and 25 cent eve rate (11-8am) double the usual charges. Expected to be paid in cash ( even though we had no warning of the final amount owed ) and became awkward when trying to do a bank transfer. Spoiled the experience and they clearly aren’t interested in repeat customers
- Caroline, March 2024We are hugely concerned at the use of the term "very dubious" when describing the charging for electricity used as it suggests dishonesty on our part. We strongly reject this statement. It is stated on the property page prior to booking that guests must pay for electricity used. A reading is taken upon arrival and shared with our guests and a final reading is taken and given at checkout. This is exactly what happened in this case. In the review above our guests state "We saw other reviews indicating a concern as to the clarity of charges". This statement also attempts to cast a shadow on our integrity. We cannot allow this statement to remain unchallenged as there is only one other review making a reference to electricity charges and this was placed by a guest with an agenda also. Our guests who placed the review above stayed in our Holiday Home for 14 days and nights and the group numbered 7 adults. Each adult stayed in our property for €12.32 per night. During one of the worst periods of weather in West Kerry these seven adults consumed just under €2.00 of electricity per day, in a house where everything is run on electricity. Claims that "we were rarely at home" is misleading particularly if heating and/or appliances remained running in the absence of our guests. "The hot water isn't working and we needed to boost it many times" This is how the hot water works, to heat the water you must press the boost button. "The bathroom upstairs doesn't have working hot water at all". This statement is simply inaccurate. "The unit rate charged for electricity is double the usual rate" This statement is also inaccurate and misleading. We as the owners of this Holiday Home have a passion for fair-play. We try our absolute to be fair with everyone and we also expect fair-play in return. During a telephone conversation with one of these guests I was informed that they are honourable people with deep connections to West Kerry. In that case they should be well aware of the costs of electricity in Ireland. I would also have expected they would pay their electricity bill in full but they did not. The review went on to say "they clearly aren't interested in repeat customers". We can absolutely assure our guests that we are interested in repeat business. We have many returning customers year after year and we will extend the same repeat welcome to you once your electricity bill has been paid in full. Property Owner
B “It was stated when booking that a meter reading would be taken on arrival and again on departure.”
On arrival the current meter reading was handwritten on a note on the worktop and the meter was in a locked cupboard. On departure no one appeared to take a meter reading. I later received a message saying that they got the days mixed up. I was also informed that I owed 43.50 euros for one weeks electricity a charge which I am expected to take purely on trust with no means of verifying.

Anna, the lady who takes care of the property was welcoming, friendly and even made sure we had a travel cot for our stay. The cottage is well-located and easy to find, the perfect base to discover the Dingle Penisula. We loved our stay here.

Our host, Anna, was super helpful and kind to keep in touch throughout our two week stay. She answered all sorts of questions and gave wonderful directions to places we might want to visit on Dingle Peninsula. The house had more than enough room for all of us, with 4 twins, 1 double in the two bedrooms upstairs & a shared bath. Two more doubles in their own rooms downstairs, each with its own bathroom. All had showers. Also had a half bath in the downstairs laundry area, so convenient. Worked great as a home base for our travels throughout the country, but we are accustomed to driving. Perfect for hikes & beaches around the peninsula. Dingle town was close by & lovely as a regular 'stay at home' day. Great for day trips around Co. Kerry. Also, rail station in Tralee about 40min drive away, or buses run from Dingle to Tralee several times a day. Wonderful holiday! Thank you so much for hosting us here!

over all it was fine. great supervalu shop in dingle , lots of nice meals in pubs and restaurants, All prices gone up and as we were single ladies we could manage that but it would be very expensive for family. The scenery was beautiful, spectacular in places. The area is slowly recovering, but not there yet, from effects of covid

Kerry. It is a beautiful house very comfortable and warm has every thing you need for cooking, cosy sitting room with electric fire, brilliant WiFi, comfortable beds plenty room for my husband and 3 teenagers we could have fitted 3 more people. Amazing views very peaceful area yet near enough to the town of Dingle we would definitely go back again. The only thing we found wrong was it needed a good clean, it was very dusty, the beds felt itchy. but other than that we would highly recommend no 7

Lovely location clean and spacious accomodation although lounge is small okay for four people -very pleasant welcome but it would have been really nice if there had been a pint of milk in fridge just to make a warm drink after a long day travelling our first visit to Southern Ireland people are so friendly and stunning scenery

The property
Set on a quiet development on the outskirts of Lispole, 6 miles from Dingle in County Kerry, is this lovely detached house.
The property provides a hideaway from daily life with a real homely feel, ideal for friends and family who are looking for a well-presented property with beautiful views to enjoy.
Two double bedrooms can be found on the ground floor which both have their own en-suite shower room providing accommodation which will suit a variety of groups.
Upstairs are two twin rooms and a family bathroom, perfect for soaking in after a day spent walking.
The combined kitchen/diner on the ground floor gives space to enjoy meals with the mountain views providing a backdrop.
Spend evenings in the sitting room relaxing or get the maps out to plan the next stage of your holiday.
Outside is a lawned garden which gives children a great spot to run off the last of their energy while the parents enjoy a bottle of wine on the patio.
You can spend a day exploring Dingle with its traditional pubs, art galleries and craft shops and you may even catch a glimpse of the well-known dolphin!
This peninsula is a spectacular area and there are a selection of beaches to be visited before driving the Connor Pass to take advantage of the views.
There are plenty of things to keep you entertained for the rest of your stay including visiting Tralee, Kenmare, Killarney and discovering the Ring of Kerry.
With so many inviting places to visit you?ll find yourselves needing to return sooner that you?d think!
