The property

Set on the edge of this small rural village, The Schooner enjoys a fabulous location in County Cork.Sitting in 9-acre grounds, this large detached house boasts a family-friendly setup for you to enjoy with your loved ones.

The ground floor plays host to a twin room with views over towards the sea and a single room, sharing use of the modern shower facilities.

Also on this level is an open-plan living room with a well appointed kitchen and large dining area at which to gather together for home cooked meals.

The lounge area boasts a cosy open fire and patio doors leading through to the sun room.

Take yourself off for a quiet read under the natural light, or better still, open the doors out onto the terrace and feel that fresh coastal breeze drifting through.

Use the second sitting room in your down time, for snuggling in front of the glowing woodburner or choosing a board game and getting competitive with the family around the dining table.

Upstairs, find the spacious master kig-size bedroom and another king-size double room.

The family bathroom occupies a deep-soaking bath tub and hand-held shower for you to indulge after a long day exploring.

Use the outdoor space for family picnics on the lawn and alfresco dining on the sun deck.

Marvel at the stunning views across the greenery towards the sea in the distance and let the kids get lost in their imagination, as you watch on by with a refreshing beverage.

Goleen is a charming little village on the south-western tip of Ireland, offering a few pubs, shops and other convenient amenities you might require during your stay.

Take a day trip to explore the Blue Flag beach at Barley Cove and the visitor centre at Mizen Head.

There is also golf nearby, as well as horse riding, walking, angling and birdwatching.

Further afield, you can discover the delights of Skibbereen, with its shops, restaurants and pubs, along with the West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre.

Taste the local produce and admire some of Ireland's most beautiful scenery.

The small rural village of Goleen sits on the south-western tip of Ireland, in County Cork. The village offers four pubs, two shops, a petrol station and a fast food restaurant, helping to cater for the tourists who visit the village each year. Just four miles away is the large Blue Flag sandy beach at Barley Cove, while a little further on the visitor centre at Mizen Head is well worth a visit; in a spectacular setting with folded rocks and high cliffs, you can visit the Signal Station, set on an island accessed by an arched bridge, or shelter in the shop, café or exciting exhibitions. Activities in the area include golf, horse riding, walking, angling, sailing, diving, birdwatching and surfing, while further afield the market town of Skibbereen offers a variety of colourful shops, restaurants and pubs. This part of Cork really is the ideal holiday destination with a host of varied activities to appeal to everyone whatever their interests.
