The property

This mountain view cottage situated in Glencar is an ideal holiday stay if you want to get physical!

The house sits on the foot of Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain of 3414 feet high.

This is a beautifully renovated three bed cottage that can sleep seven people.

When you walk in the front door arrive at a lovely porch area where you can hang your coat and leave your muddy boots after a long day out walking or climbing.

Stroll into the large open-plan living area with fully fitted kitchen, dining area and comfortable sitting room with Sky TV.

The house has two en-suite bathrooms with showers plus one other bathroom with an electric shower.

Outside feast your eyes on the fabulous view of the mountains and countryside, a backdrop which can also be admired from the triple bunk room.

This is a wonderful holiday home for climbers, walkers, cyclists and anyone who likes to embrace nature and the outdoors.

There are full moon walks, rock climbing courses and guided walks like the Reeks Walk and Black Valley Walk.

The Seven Beaufort Trails offer you plenty of exercise, nature, archaeology and history.

When you tire of climbing, the cottage is about eight miles along an amazing scenic drive to the town of Killorglin with a host of lovely restaurants and pubs offering traditional music.

Glencar is close to the Lickeen Forest, the famous Caragh lake and is on the fabulous Ring of Kerry.

So, fish, climb, walk, hike and explore further afield from this very lovely Glencar cottage.

The village of Glencar is located right in the centre of the region of Kerry otherwise known as The Kingdom. Glencar is a nature lover’s paradise surrounded by the mountain range Macgillycuddy Reeks, with Carrantouhill, Ireland’s highest mountain, majestically towering overhead. With hundreds of acres of forests and numerous lakes, such as Lickeen Forest, Caragh River and Caragh Lake, Glencar offers wonderful scenery and great walking and angling opportunities. An abundance of wild and birdlife can be found in the area, including pheasant, duck, wood pigeon, mink, fox, mountain hare, wild goat and sika deer. The village is home to three pubs, including The Climbers' Inn, which offers good food and drink, and a Post Office and food store. The pretty town of Killorglin, the gateway to the Ring of Kerry, is within easy reach, and offers a variety of cafés, pubs and restaurants, while an abundance of sandy beaches and golf courses are within easy driving distance.
