This lovely single-storey property overlooks the Shannon Estuary in the townland of Newton East, near Kilkee in County Clare.

The property is surrounded by countryside, with views of the sea in the distance, and has an old country style, comfortably accommodating a family or group of five looking to explore County Clare and western Ireland.

The property is enclosed by a short stone wall and has lots of exterior space, including ample off-road parking.

Heading to the back entrance of the property, you will discover the well-equipped, recently renovated kitchen, with ample amenities to aid you during your stay, including a dishwasher, cooker and washing machine.

Onto the living/dining room, which features a fantastic wood-panelled ceiling and a lovely dresser filled with crockery, along with dining seating for six, so you can join together to enjoy meals and make plans for your stay, while the solid fuel stove provides a warm, homely feel and the sofa offers a comfortable spot to relax in, while enjoying some music on the CD Player.

The main sitting room is a vibrant yellow colour, with a grey sofa and armchairs, complimenting the colour scheme well, plus a delightful original fireplace housing an open fire, a TV to entertain and wood panelling on the ceiling.

The property has three bedrooms; two doubles, one of which has bay windows at either side providing lots of light and lovely surrounding views and a quirky bedside lamp shaped like a camera, while the other has a beautiful original panelled ceiling and feature fireplace, along with a tastefully decorated single bedroom, ideal for a child.

The modern tiled bathroom with a walk-in electric shower completes the layout.

Outside, there is a lawn area at the side of the property and it the front, you will find a south-facing patio garden, a real sun trap where you can sit at the outdoor table and enjoy a morning coffee or an alfresco lunch and admire your peaceful surroundings and distant coastal views.

The seaside town of Kilkee is just under six miles away, overlooking a mile-long horseshoe-shaped bay with a lovely Blue Flag awarded sandy beach, protected from the sometimes harsh Atlantic conditions by the Duggerna Reef and is considered to be the safest bathing place in Ireland.

Walkers will enjoy the Cliff Walk Kilkee, an 8km circular walk along the cliff tops that takes in the stunning coastline.

Waterworld is an all-weather family attraction, with an indoor water bubble pool, lazy river ride and more, while the 18-hole championship golf course provides a scenic backdrop for a round of golf, and there is a small selection of restaurants, showcasing locally caught fish and shellfish, if you feel like dining out.

Wildlife lovers should venture to Carrigaholt, where you can enjoy watching dolphins swim by, go birdwatching, horse riding, sailing and scuba diving.

There is so much to love about this area of Ireland, and Newtown East is the perfect retreat to return to at the end of each adventure-filled day.

Kilkee is a charming seaside town on the western coast of County Clare overlooking the mile-long horseshoe bay, with a gently sloping safe and sandy Blue Flag beach that is protected from the Atlantic weather by the Duggerna Reef, which stretches across the mouth of the bay. Kilkee has a well deserved reputation as the safest bathing place in Ireland with bathing and swimming enjoyed at all stages of the tide. The Kilkee Surf School runs surf camps for children aged 9 to 16 at Kilkee and Doughmore beaches every week of the summer holidays or why not try Waterworld? A popular all-weather facility, Waterworld has a range of indoor water attractions including a bubble pool, shower geysers, the 'lazy river ride' and a 61m crystal tower slide, and the Thalassotherapy Centre which offers a variety of sea based therapies. The 18-hole championship golf course is situated on the road towards George's Head and stretches along the spectacular cliffs. There are also numerous walks with cliff scenery that can only be described as spectacular. Kilkee has a variety of cafes and restaurants specialising in locally caught fish and shellfish, while the pubs and lounge bars have regular music competitions, traditional Irish nights, cabaret, dancing and pub theatre. Dolphin watching can be enjoyed at nearby Carrigaholt, while activities including sailing, scuba diving, birdwatching and horse riding are available in the area. Something for everyone!
